Artist Statement

My work is mainly process driven, and lead by the nature of the pigments, tools & materials I'm working with. As the mark making and layers develop each painting reveals a narrative, informing my decisions about the next step in the process. As the painting continues to evolve I simply let the energy of intuitive mark making take it where it wants to be.

Artist Bio

A professional free-lance artist for 4 decades. Originally from South Dakota/ Wyoming. Seeking warmer climes and beach life I relocated my studio 25 yrs ago to NW Florida and settled near Grayton Beach / 30A area.

My environment definitely has an impact on my work. After I moved my studio inland from the beach my work is now more about the flora of wetlands, woods and gardens and a passion for flowers became an obsession.
I'm a mom to an adult son, rescue dogs and a chatty parrot. I'm in my studio or gardens daily and love living on my little plot of land in the "country" yet only half hour from the beach when I need a sand sea sky fix.
