Studio Information

My studio is open to the public by appointment. Located in DeFuniak Springs Fl approx. 27 miles from Santa Rosa Beach Florida.

I have a large body of work available at my studio aside from what is shown on my website.

For locals within a 60mile radius of my studio I offer a delivery service.

SHIPPING OVERSIZED ART ~ 2 OPTIONS.

1.MONEY SAVER: All work over 48inch can be shipped unstretched and rolled in a sturdy tube box. Painting will need to be restretched before hanging by any professional picture framer. It is less expensive and safer for artwork to ship it rolled.

2.READY TO HANG: Artwork will be crate or box packed (depending on size) and will ship to your door ready to hang. Example ship fee: 46"x60" painting for most destinations will be as low as $700.00 and up to $1200 but it depends on destination and weight. Note: Shipping charges on oversized works can be erratic, it's best to get an estimate quote to be sure. I use a shipping transport company from Pensacola Fl. Contact my studio for a pre purchase quote if you have concerns.

HOW TO PURCHASE MY ART

All artworks will be invoiced using PAYPAL and payable from the invoice using a credit card.

RETURN POLICY

If you are unhappy with a painting after you receive it you must contact us within 24hrs of receiving it to give notice you intend to return it. The artwork also must be returned in original packaging and in perfect condition. After receiving it and its inspected for damage a refund will be issued within 7 business days minus a restock fee of 20%

Artist Statement

I'm a literal sponge, soaking in, taking up and releasing the essence of life experiences back out and into whatever I'm creating. My archive of artworks spanning 4 decades is my history in visual form.
Painting is my primary form of communication and through the act of creating my existence feels more solidified.

My work is mainly process driven lead by the nature of the pigments, tools & materials. As the mark making and layers develop each painting reveals a cast of characters that contribute to the unfolding narrative. As I move the painting forward letting it evolve intuitively , I'm open to letting it become something entirely different than the idea I had of it in the beginning. I often think my main job at this point is keeping my "editor" in check and hopefully a good painting will happen.

Artist Bio

I've been a professional artist for 4 decades. Originally from the US High Plains region. Seeking sunshine and beach life I relocated my studio 25 yrs ago to NW Florida and settled near Grayton Beach / 30A area. I consider myself to be self taught artist painter even though I attended university because real art skills are only acquired with practice over time. To be an artist isn't a 9to5 and then you go home to your other life. There is no separation between who you are and what you do for a living. As a visual artist I'm never not "looking-working" at everything through eyes that examine all detail and nuance, always in the process of collecting bits and pieces of inspiration. My paintings are about observations and being observant about how I process life experiences.

My environment always has an impact on my work. After I moved my studio inland from the beach my work became more about the flora of wetlands, woods and gardens and a passion for flowers became an obsession.
I'm a mom to an adult son, rescue dogs and a talking parrot. I'm in my studio or gardens daily and love living on my little plot of land in the "country" yet only half hour from the beach when I need a sand sea sky fix.
