Studio Information

My studio is open to the public by appointment. Located in DeFuniak Springs Fl approx. 27 miles from Santa Rosa Beach Florida.

Artist Statement

My work is mainly process driven lead by the nature of the pigments, tools & materials. As the mark making and layers develop each painting reveals a cast of characters that contribute to the unfolding narrative. As I move the painting forward letting it evolve intuitively , I'm open to letting it become something entirely different than the idea I had of it in the beginning.

Artist Bio

I've been a professional artist for 4 decades. Originally from the USA High Plains region. Seeking sunshine and beach life I relocated my studio 25 yrs ago to NW Florida and settled near Grayton Beach / 30A area. I am primarily a self taught artist even though I attended university because the painting skills I considered important are achieved mostly with practice. As a visual artist I'm never not "looking-working" at everything through eyes that examine all details and nuance, always in the process of collecting bits and pieces of inspiration.

My environment definitely has an impact on my work. After I moved my studio inland from the beach my work became more about the flora of wetlands, woods and gardens and a passion for flowers became an obsession.
I'm a mom to an adult son, rescue dogs and a talking parrot. I'm in my studio or gardens daily and love living on my little plot of land in the "country" yet only half hour from the beach when I need a sand sea sky fix.
